Photos lie by omission
Wide-angle stills hide layout, light, and scale. Buyers book viewings to answer what one orbit would answer. Agents report 6 to 10 visits per sale, half disqualified in the doorway.
Phone-first 3D for listings
HouseTwin will reconstruct a measurable 3D scene from sparse phone views. No scanner, no tripod, no reshoot. An agent shoots in minutes, shares a link, and skips wasted viewings.
Problem
Wide-angle stills hide layout, light, and scale. Buyers book viewings to answer what one orbit would answer. Agents report 6 to 10 visits per sale, half disqualified in the doorway.
Scanner-class capture is sharp but slow. Hardware rental, trained operator, hours on site, a day of processing. It never made sense for a small rental or a quick resale.
Dense photo sets work in the lab. A few casual phone shots with glare, clutter, and thin overlap usually break. That sparse-view gap is what HouseTwin aims to close.
How it works
The pipeline is designed to assume bad input. It recovers camera poses, fills unseen areas with priors, and ships a light web mesh instead of a heavy scan.
Walk corner to corner and shoot a sparse set of phone photos with overlap. No visit from us, no scanner, no training. A guide flags blur and backlight on the spot.
input: your phone photos with EXIF
Planned: learned matchers recover poses, depth priors seed geometry, splats densify, then bake a light mesh with true scale.
planned: poses to splats to mesh
Orbit and floor-plan view in the browser. Opens on a buyer phone on 4G. The agent sees what was viewed.
output: light web mesh plus plan
Demo · concept
Auto-play below shows the intended flow. Photos feed the solver, splats converge, mesh locks. Drag to orbit at any time.
Concept preview rendered live. The full pipeline is still to be built.
Plan
Learned matching plus phone EXIF and motion data. A bad view gets rejected instead of warping the scene.
Depth priors fill in plain walls. Doors and windows anchor scale. Goal is rooms that measure close enough for listings.
View synthesis first, then bake to a light mesh so the twin opens fast on a buyer phone.
Every twin should ship with a coverage map. Uncertain corners get marked, not invented. One reshoot, not a reshoot day.
Pilot · five homes
No visit needed. Shoot photos on your own phone, send them in, get back a twin link. Free for the first five homes.
01 · CORNER FLAT
Long hall with mixed light. The twin should settle layout questions before a visit.
slot open02 · FAMILY HOUSE
Tests the exterior to interior handoff across levels.
slot open03 · SMALL RENTAL
If capture takes more than minutes here, the product fails.
in talks04 · RENOVATED UNIT
Glossy surfaces and an evening shoot. Hard case for depth.
slot open05 · OLDER LAYOUT
Plan view matters more than photos. Twin plus true floor plan.
